Entrance of the châteaux de la Loire, the Blois citadel built since the 6th century and overlooking the valley, has evolved through centuries and now holds an important architectural heritage. The four facades has greeted 10 queens and 7 kings !
The castle is also a renowned museum which has 35 000 pieces of collection and masterpieces.

·         Chambord Castle
Unesco heritage since 1981, the national property is a world renowned example of great architecture but also holds a wild fauna that of a hunting reserve, allowing nice walks and biking.
Imagined and decided by François the 1st in 1519, the castle construction finds itself on a swampy place, surrounded by a forest and a river, as the king was very fond of hunting.
One of the castle’s particularity is the double stairs: people who are going down and those that are going up don’t cross each other’s way ! It is sometimes said that Leonard de Vinci imagined and conceived this architectural masterpiece.

·         Cheverny
One of the biggest castles of the Loire, Cheverny is the residence of the Hurault family: The marquise and the marquis de Vibraye.
The insides have a very good decoration with unique furniture: red boudoir, child’s room, married couple room, the dining room and living room. The carpets and the four-poster beds are also valuable furniture.
The castle has an English style garden that contains rare essence plants like lime-tea, sequoias and many varieties of cedars, and a 100 hectares garden that will enchant everyone !
For the Belgian comic “Tintin” lovers ! The domain organizes a permanent exposition on the Moulinsart castle, inspired from Cheverny. You can visit Tintin’s room, professor Tournesol’s laboratory or the Moulinsart basement.
